Meet Lisa

The tension between loving systems and rejecting rigid boxes.

For years, I’ve operated in the space between two worlds. I love science, clinical data, and the beautiful predictability of behavioral systems.

However, I deeply reject the rigid, compliance-driven boxes that traditional therapy tries to force neurodivergent children into. I founded Beyond the Box because I knew there had to be a better way—a way to respect the data without losing the child.

STRUCTURED ENOUGH TO TRUST. FREE ENOUGH TO GROW.

To me, this isn’t just a catchy tagline; it’s my daily clinical compass. Your family deserves an elite practitioner who understands the gold-standard science inside and out, paired with the clinical freedom to design creative, meaningful interventions that truly meet your child where they are.

Beyond the Box exists to bridge the gap between rigorous behavior science and true neurodivergent autonomy. We give your child the safe space to freely discover their authentic self—guiding them with minimal prompting only when highly necessary, so they can find their voices, fiercely protect their boundaries, and navigate the world on their own terms.

I had always known I experienced and understood the world differently. However, instead of trying to understand those differences, I learned to mask, adapt, and hide the parts of myself that felt different. Even though I found success in my career, I still sometimes struggle with knowing what I need, communicating those needs, regulating myself at the end of the day, and navigating social situations.

Through connecting the pieces with the individuals I worked with, I began my own journey of self-understanding. I came to realize that the goal was never to become someone else. The goal was to understand myself, discover what worked for me, and build a life that I want.

I am still learning how to navigate the world authentically and I'm learning what supports work best for me. The children and families I have had the privilege of working with have taught me as much as I hope to teach them. Their experiences continue to shape both my personal growth and the way I approach ABA.

If I could go back and speak to the younger version of myself, I would that little girl that she is doing just fine, even if she doesn't join the others.

My Journey:

From Graphs to Human Connection

Originally, I entered the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) because I was fascinated by the science of behavior. It made sense to me in a way that nothing else had before. I loved the patterns, the problem-solving, and the ability to use data to create meaningful change.

Over time, however, I learned a vital truth: some of the most important things about a person can never be captured on a graph or measured by a data point.
