Step 4. Therapy Starts
Once your insurance responds with the approval, your therapy will officially start! Steps 2-4 will continue every 6 months for reassessment.
Step 0 (Skip for private pay):
Submit 1. your ASD Diagnosis, and 2. a copy of your insurance card's front and back. BTB will verify your specific ABA benefits and notify you. Once verified, BTB will submit your ASD diagnosis to your insurance to request an ABA assessment.
**ASD Diagnosis must be signed by a psychologist or an MD.
While awaiting the assessment authorization, intake paperwork will be provided.
For Blue Cross Blue shield insurance, a Vineland-3 assessment questionnaire will be administered in addition for parents to score as well.
Step 1. Caregiver Fills Out Intake Paperwork:
Step 2. BCBA Conducts Initial Assessment:
Direct observation in home around 1 hour (additional observation in community or preschool if requested or required)
Interview with parents only around 30 minutes-1 hour
Step 3. BCBA Writes Initial Treatment Report:
This takes a few days to a week.
Once the plan is written, it will be reviewed and signed by the caregivers for approval before sending to insurance for final approval
